Headspace Vials
QEC headspace vials provide uniform glass thickness which insures even heat distribution for consistent sampling reliability. All QEC headspace vials meet or exceed OEM instrument manufacturer¡¯s specifications. Bevel-finish headspace vials are available in 6mL, 10mL, and 20mL sizes. Screw-finish vials are available in 10mL and 20mL.

Magnetic Crimp Seals
Steel and Bimetal Crimp Closures
20mm steel crimps (5mm or 8mm hole) - Tried and true magnetic autosampler cap. Cost effective, they perform well with low evaporation even under high temp/pressure. Steel closures resist manual crimping. Use of an autocrimper is recommended for steel crimp closures.
20mm bi-metal crimp - Bi-metal crimps give the same performance of a steel crimp while being more pliable than steel. The aluminum edges allow much easier manual crimping, and the steel center allows use of a magnetic pick-up device.

Magnetic Screw Caps
Magnetic precision-thread screw caps present a convenient alternative to crimp caps designs. Caps come with 18mm liners already installed. The cap has an 8mm center aperture. QEC's 18mm screw closures give a good balance of performance, cost, and usability that has caused this product to grow in popularity.

Aluminum Crimp Seals
Aluminum seals are the preferred choice for use with manual crimping tools, and for auto samplers that do not employ magnetic pick-up transport.
QEC's 20mm aluminum seals are available with septa pre-inserted for convenience and to reduce contamination due to handling. Choose natural silicone septa with white PTFE or white silicone septa with white PTFE.
Seals may also be purchased with no septa.

Headspace Septa
Low-Bleed PTFE/Silicone is one of the most commonly used headspace septa materials, and the one with the best per formance characteristics.
The PTFE provides a barrier for chemical resistance. The Silicone layer provides an analytically clean backing material that ensures a good seal with the surface of the vial, and affords some degree of resealability when punctured. Silicone is also the best choice for high temperature work as it will perform up to about 200 C.
